2 Hour Old Baby

Melvin Kaminsky was born 96 years ago today.
The man and the legend he created are known
to us all as Mel Brooks.
So many credits to his name, it boggles the mind.
I’ll post the hell out of him for a while, with a nod
to the material that he created with his long time
best pal Carl Reiner.
This is a cool little piece, the set-up is this…Mel is a
2 hour old baby that was born with the ability to
talk and think like an adult.
Carl is the interviewer.
If you guessed that hilarity would ensue you would
be correct…

My Dead Dog Rover

An old classic from Hank, Stu, Dave and Hank.
The 1970’s was a decent decade for novelty tunes.
Zappa was still alive and kicking, Monty Python
was hitting their stride, many serious musicians
contributed to the funny pile, lots to like.
And the multitude of One Hit Wonders was
impressive, this being a fine example.
The imagery is a bit unsettling at first, but you get
over it once you’ve minced a few Rovers of your own…

Flight of the Mole People

An interesting slice from the 2011 animated flick Rango.
I will say it again, because it’s worth saying, I will never
understand why the studios hire famous actors to do the
voices of animated characters.
Give the work to someone who needs it, not to someone
who makes 20 million a movie.
There’s a few different tropes being utilized here.
Silly fun for the whole family…

The Salt and Pepper Diner

This is a great one by John Mulaney.
John is more of a story telling stand-up comedian.
He can tell a very humorous tale, this is one of his
better ones.
The tension is palpable amongst the diners.
I find that hilarious.
Does that make me a bad person?
