My Old Flame

I have a huge soft spot for Spike Jones!
The old fashioned sound and the zaniness get me every time.
This guy made comedy albums respectable, we all owe
him a great deal.
I’m also a sucker for a good Peter Lorre imitation…

A Nightmare of a Date

One of the best comedy troupes to ever grace a stage,
The Royal Canadian Air Farce has long been a favorite
of mine to play on the show.
A lot of their material is classic, some of the best
ever made, by anyone.
It’s rare when you see a comedy sketch hold its own
on the radio, a lot of them rely on visuals
and don’t do well in just an audio format.
Most of the RCAF pieces can do just that.
This skit does have a visual aspect to it, a rather
funny parody of commercials we’ve all seen before…

We’re Not Number One

I rank Daniel Tosh very high on the list of best stand-up
comedian ever, he’s top ten for sure maybe even top five.
He’s one of the smartest on the circuit, and his
irreverence is the best I’ve seen, brings it to a whole
new level.
He is very funny in this bit…

On This Day in History

Mojo Nixon was born back in 1957!
Psychobilly artist and all around crazy man Mojo
is a real treat to play on the show.
He is unique, and then some, nobody quite like him.
Teamed with Skid Roper to do his most famous piece,
Elvis is Everywhere, back in the 80s.
I like this one for the unusual subject matter.
The lyrics are pretty cool as well…
