Vacation time brings out the miser in all of us.
Mark’s a great comic, he has it all…voice,
stage presence and material are all top shelf.
And just the right amount of snark.
I interviewed him back in the early part of the
millennium, he was friendly and engaging.
A couple of naughty bits, nothing heavy, I’m sure
your Mom has screamed them at your Dad at one
time or another.
No diving in the lake…

Mojo Nixon was born back in 1957!
Much can be said about Mojo, most of
it not in the presence of small children.
He’s one heck of a performer, packs a mean
sense of humor and is as irreverent as they come.
Had a small hit back in the 80’s with Skid Roper
and saw a little MTV exposure before his star
faded a bit.
I’ve always liked him, he comes across as a bit
of a redneck but he’s a lot more complicated than that.
Happy Birthday ya big lug, may there be many more!

The late, great Andrew Gold was born back in 1951!
A multi instrumentalist of well known repute, he
backed up some high end acts over the years that
he was active, some of the best in the business.
As a singer and songwriter, Andrew went on to perform a
few pieces that charted on American and British
radio as well.
He really was a talented human being, lots to like.
There’s a couple of cuts of his that I love to play
around Halloween, great production values with
imagination to spare, and lots of camp.
This is one of them, a smart piece with great imagery.
Nice and moody!
Well done Mr. Gold, you will be remembered…

Lachlan Patterson with a humorous overview on

He nails pro football for being silly, and
rightfully so.
