Being Awkward

Tommy Ryman with a great piece of stand-up highlighting
his ability to not fit in!
I’m really becoming a fan of Tommy’s comedy, he’s getting
better all the time and his observational skills are some
of the best I’ve seen in a comedian.
The best ones pull from their experiences and this guy is
no exception.
This is a pretty funny performance…

On This Day in History

Martin Mull was born back in 1943!
He’s had a long and interesting career as a comedian,
painter, voice over artist, and television show host.
Martin put out a few recordings of novelty songs over
the course of many years and I’ve collected them all.
The following is one of the more clever ones.
Happy Birthday Mr. Mull, may you have many more!
What is normal?
And who cares?
Not me…

Bike Stop

MC Mr. Napkins (Zach Sherwin) with an ode to
those that break the law with impunity!
Actually, not at all, but it does make for an
interesting starter sentence.
He got stopped for blowing through an intersection
on his bicycle, got a ticket for it and this song
details his lament.
Not as compelling is it?
I go with my instincts…

One Evil Family

A great clip from Minions, the 2015 flick that
spotlights the infamous jaundiced little darlings
that we all know and love!
I like this cut, has character.
I’d kill to see a real police chase that involved
paintball guns, packed to the rafters station wagons
and arguing teenagers.
The visuals alone are worth the price of admission…

Apple Juice?

This is a short but humorous piece on
being a father with inquisitive kids!
Henry Cho is of Korean lineage who was
born and raised in Tennessee, he started
doing stand-up comedy in 1986 and never
looked back.
A pretty funny guy, I like to give him
air time on the show.
No apple juice I’m afraid…

Comedy 101 Playlist 8.16.18

Some nifty Summer tunes and sketches for this weeks show.
I went with a couple of songs by the Pheromones, some
forgotten gems that deserve airplay.
I interviewed one of the members back in the 90’s right
after he moved to Canada.
Maz Jobrani with some smart stand-up, as well as a
goofy one from the late, great Johnny Cash.
Played some Celestial Navigations, R.I.P. Mr. Lewis.
I love that Monty Python cover by the Bolivian Sunshine Dogs!
Proctor and Bergman are always good for a laugh.
