The Tubedogs with an ode to ego and pride everywhere!
I played this on the show this week.
It has verve, and a lust for life that is lost in most.
If I was king I’d make a decree that would make it a crime
if, upon awakening, you didn’t fling open your windows every
morning and sing this song at the top of your lungs!
Think of it, as soon as the sun breaks you and your neighbors
warbling this mighty tune from your bedroom portals.
In unison.
A coffee in one hand.
You know what in the other.
Lighten up, it’s the weekend… 🙂

This brings me back to the day when the National
Lampoon Radio Hour ruled the airwaves!
I talked about this on the show this week, the
70’s were a tremendous time for comedy.
Lots of trend setting humor, both in television
and on the radio.
Especially radio, with the Doctor Demento show,
The National Lampoon Radio Hour and various other
comedic programs just strutting their stuff.
And, yes it had its bad moments as well, especially
in the television domain.
Radio was king back then, it’s on its last legs as I
type this, hardly anyone listens to radio anymore.
I always enjoyed it for the imagery, my mind could
paint a better picture than any TV program ever could.
Of course, I’m a little crazed, that may indeed have a
lot to do with it.
Still, Tony Hendra and the National Lampoon gang were
the top of the heap.
I loves me a good parody…

A diverse show this week with a little tribute
to the birthday girl, Jane Curtin!

Jane was a cast member from 1975 to the 1980 season.
Back when Saturday Night Live was funny.*
Some odd stuff from Heywood Banks and Riley Armstrong.
With a “Not Right in the Head” block thrown in for
good measure.
Noel Paul Stookey, of Peter, Paul and Mary fame, with a
homage to one of the more misunderstood vegetables.
Some Axis of Evil Comedy Tour stand-up to give it
some flavor, along with a touch of hubris in the form
of an manly ode by the Tubedogs.
Some impressive Cy Amundson, a stand-up comedian
that really paints a superb picture when telling a joke.
A well rounded wreck of a show, held together with
Duct Tape and bubble gum.

that reflects on life and all its changes!
I’ve been around a while, payphones used to be so
common, you just knew that there was one right
around the corner.
Now, not so much.
You’d better charge that cell phone!
He’s a solid performer, quite funny and highly
entertaining…

Yesterday I played a SNL piece that spotlighted
a Jane Curtin Birthday.
I’d like to carry that over another day to include
this fine gem from the very first season, back when
it was funny , including the whole gang!
