YMCA

Settle down, I’m not gonna start singing!
It’s where Dan Cummins likes to work out.
I was a gym rat for years, he knows what he’s
talking about.
You work out where you’re most comfortable.
And if you’re most comfortable where the folks
ogle and applaud you for bench pressing more
than fifty pounds well then…good for you!
I had a great workout just last night.
Eyelids, toes, and ear lobes.
Protein powder endorsements are right around
the corner…

Clink, Clink Another Drink

An oldie but a goodie!
The immortal Spike Jones, with His City Slickers, doing
a “Soundie” from 1942!
That’s what they called short visual presentations
back then.
There’s a little Mel Blanc thrown in for good measure.
The only team-up that those two did, If I am not mistaken.
They had loads of energy and were REALLY into their craft.
And their drinking as well…

For the Birds

There’s a joke there!
Staying with the cute for a while longer, this is
a funny short from Pixar Animations with some
audio mixed in from David Redinha.
There are a few moral lessons one can learn
from watching this pleasing piece of video.
Beats the Hades out of me what they might be
so I’ll leave that up to you fine folk to discern.
As I stated, a cute one…

Lydia, The Tattooed Lady

This is a classic Groucho Marx song as done by
The Juggernaut Jug Band!
It has a melancholy feel to it, they slow it down
a bit, adds just a touch of sadness.
I’m always amazed at how a song can change
by slowing the tempo, and cutting back on the
enthusiasm just a bit…this is certainly not
Groucho’s version, but very entertaining nonetheless.
A classic is a classic no matter how you play it…
