The Word Retard

I promise to post this awesome bit of stand-up by
Christopher Titus at least once a year!
This piece deserves to be in that rarified part of
comedy where only the best usually traverse.
Carlin sits firmly atop of that particular pile but
Mr. Titus is not far away.
I like everything about this performance, his
style is quite unique, very self deprecating and
yet as confident as they come.
He tells a great story but very little of it is fiction,
his life is chock full of large chucks of insanity
that he uses to fuel his humor, and it works wonderfully.
A powerful effort, highly recommended!
A couple of naughty-bits contained therein, I wouldn’t
crank it to eleven in the middle of church services that’s
all I’m saying…

Blackadder Goes Forth

Mission Gainsborough!

This wonderful piece of jocularity is from the BBC Television
show Blackadder, the fourth and final installment of the series
which aired in 1989 called Blackadder Goes Forth.
The show was divided into four time periods, spotlighting the
descendants of Blackadder , and associates, over many years
and many incarnations.
Brilliantly written with superb acting by all involved, this is one
of my all time favorite television shows.
Rowan Atkinson has never been better, with a support cast
that is right up there with the best of them.
Some outstanding lines here…

Being a Fat Kid

Spencer James with a funny look at being a sub-par kiddly bean.
That describes me, I was very uncoordinated at that age, couldn’t
get both my legs to run in the same direction if my life depended on it.
Still that way, but that’s more of a memory thing.
I keep forgetting..BACON in the morning, and BEER at night!
Adulting is hard…

Cosmology, Your Futon and You

The Amoeba People are a really cool band of musicians
that rock and instruct at the same time.
They are really scientific, most of their songs are comprised
of research, observations, and conclusions concerning their
favorite science endeavor.
Very entertaining, and it’s not just for the nerds, I find them to
be a learning experience with a bunch of chuckles thrown in for
good measure, I highly recommend them.
This piece is a great example of what they can do…
