These folks were so good they made it look easy.
The entire movie has so many classic scenes in it.
Superb all the way through…

This is a great piece of stand-up by a real
master of his craft.
Anthony Griffith has been doing comedy
since college, honing his act at every gig
he could get.
He’s a very religious man but he doesn’t
really throw that at you at all, his flow
is quite natural and as funny as anything
you’ll find on the circuit.
I love playing this guy on the show.

That’s what they all say!
This happy little ode to Alzheimers and firearms
was written by Hank Fort back in 1948.
Mrs. Hank Fort was born in 1914 as Eleanor Hankins.
She had written more than 400 songs over her several
decade career, some were covered by artists as
diverse as The Andrew Sisters and Petula Clark.
I play this version on the show, it has that “old time”
feel to it, old yet charming.
Some very telling lines here, makes you wonder if
she wasn’t singing this from experience…

The Simpsons are still rolling along after all these years
for a really good reason, there’s nothing funnier on TV!
That’s not saying much, considering most television
programming isn’t fit for man or beast, but I do want to
give credit where it is due.
The first show was broadcast in 1989, it was raw and
trying to find and fill a niche.
The early years had Homer being a mad, over the top,
father/husband/blue collar worker with a bratty kid
that would drive him bonkers.
He would eventually be refined into a more sympathetic
figure with Bart being less of a jerk and more of a “work
in progress”, learning as they both went along.
The characters have improved mightily over the years,
but the main strength of the show has always been its writing.
Top notch in that department, with no equal.
I get a kick out of the current series complaint, “It isn’t as
good as it used to be!”, and that may be accurate but it is STILL
the best comedy show on television.
This is a slice of Season 14, A Star is Born, it works really
well for playing on the show.
