This is a classic comedy sketch from
Firesign Theatre, off of the “Shoes for
Industry!” recordings, 1993!
Phil Proctor, Peter Bergman, Dave Ossman,
and Phil Austin formed the group back in
the 60’s, with inspiration from The Goon Show
they became well known for surreal sketch comedy.
Producing several albums, they were THE comedy
troupe of the 60’s and 70’s, this side of the ponds
equivalent to Monty Python.
A lot of it is dated, not really applicable in this era,
but some of it is timeless and quite entertaining.
This is a dark piece, humorous and irreverent…

Michael Somerville with a funny bit of stand-up

He’s a very funny man, he should be more well
known than he is, playing his material on the
show might help that.
Laid back but not laconic, he hones right in on the
humorous side of life, he can find jocularity in just
about any scenario.
He plays well on the show, always good for a chuckle.

These guys are great musicians with a
wicked sense of humor.

Those two were way ahead of their time,
a lot of it is dated but some is just as good
today as when it was first performed back
in the fifties.
