Six of the Best

An absolute classic by Peter Cook and Dudley Moore.
At one time they were THE comedy duo to watch.
BBC Television hosted their show Not Only…But Also
in the mid sixties to rave reviews.
They were quite a pair, Dudley Moore being a musician
with a comedic bent, and Cook being a comedian with a
really warped view of the world, together creating some
of the best sketch comedy this side of Monty Python.
With typical British understatement this skit is a great
example of cerebral humor…

Married an Anesthesiologist

David Crowe is a very funny man.
I absolutely love most of what I’ve seen from him.
He’s got it all…timing, stage presence, material, and
stuff that makes you go sleepy-sleep!
The last flight I was on included a crying baby.
I wish the Crowe family had been on that plane…

Comedy 101 Radio Playlist 9.6.19

I went crazy this week.
I mean it, a whole show of cerebral abnormalities
that would make Sigmund Freud proud.
Damn near every brain dysfunction you can think of!
When I was compiling the playlist it occurred to me
that a great deal of comedy is indeed based on
what I’m spotlighting here, craziness abounds.
It’s not just confined to the comedy world, but that’s a
topic for another time, don’t get me started.
Some fine off kilter jocularity here…

The Elements

Tom Lehrer with a seriously tongue twisting
ditty of epic proportions!
His talent was so far ahead of the pack this song
still kicks butt over fifty years after he wrote it.
Mr. Lehrer is certainly one of a kind.
Take notes, there’s a test later…

Midterm Grades

Another superb scene from National Lampoon’s
1978 flick, Animal House!
Dean Wormer is itching to get rid of Delta House
and he thinks he has finally worked out a way to
do just that.
He has most of the Delta gang in his office setting
up the removal via low grade point expulsion.
Things are not always as easy as they first appear.
The movie really heats up after this, setting all sorts
of wonderfully funny things in motion.
Classic in every way possible, if you haven’t seen this
please do yourself a favor and watch it, preferably
under the influence of…something.
John Vernon as Dean Wormer is stupendous!

Four Years Old

Michael Jr. with a hilarious bit on his young
son’s visit to the doctor’s office.
I really like this guy, he has wonderful timing,
his material is superb, and he is a good kind
of laid back…no need to push your punchlines
when you are the total package!
I highly recommend him, top notch stand-up…
