Screams About it All the Time

This is a tremendous example of story telling stand-up comedy.
All stand-up comedians have a shtick of some kind, some lean
heavily towards one liners, others like to use body language in
their performance.
Cy Amundson is a long form story teller.
Some of his bits are several minutes long, and the build-up is a
lot of his magic.
What’s really cool is he doesn’t rely heavily on a punchline.
Yes, he provides a great one every time but the little zingers
he puts into the body of the story are usually very good.
Certainly good enough to define the joke itself, in some instances.
I consider this to be a classic, it will stand-up to time quite well.
How to act like an adult indeed…

I went with a predictable Summer/Vacation
oriented playlist this week.
With the usual lunacy of course.
Zipping by fast Summer is.
I had a request to play that classic Noodling
piece by Kathleen Madigan…a “sport” that is
by all standards of measurement proof
that some folks were deprived of oxygen
in the womb!
Always great to play Synaptic Anarchy Playhouse.
Reverend Billy with a clever one.
Lorne Elliott with tales from the farm.
Scared Weird Little Guys with an ode to tourism.
The classic Summer flasback by Christopher Titus.
Alonzo Bodden nails it!

A great tune to end the week on, let’s Potty!
Sorry, couldn’t resist.
Todd Yohn with a tune of elimination.
When you have to go you have to go.
Last one I promise.
They say that smells bring back some very old
memories, when I walk past a well used bathroom
or high stacked outhouse I think of my late father…

Another superb slice of Rango!
This movie is vastly underrated.
It has moments that just shine!
The visuals are outstanding, some
of the best I’ve seen.
Well, he DID get what he desired…

Rita Rudner has made quite a living being a
really good stand-up comedian.
I play this piece on the show, well done in every way.
Her timing is excellent as is her subject matter.
Spot on about the differences between the sexes…
