I loves me a great parody, and this is one of the better ones.
Well thought out and executed by The Kloons.
It pokes fun at television ads, lazy people, and delivery men.
The actor really does a great job, especially at the end.
Sometimes body language can convey more than the
spoken word…

Yumi Nagashima with an interesting, and pretty funny,
piece on keeping up with the times, racism, and sushi.
Not necessarily in that order.
I like this performance for a few different reasons.
It is intelligent, very insightful, and enlightening.
Yumi was born in Japan, she felt confident enough in her
abilities to migrate to Canada and try her hand at stand-up
comedy, a profession that is NOT for the faint of heart.
She doesn’t make me laugh out loud, but few comedians do.
I found myself nodding my head, smiling, and agreeing with her.
Sometimes subtle is a huge plus, as it is here.
Why is there a B in subtle, anyone know…?

Tommy Sharp & The Sharptones with an ode to
flightless aquatic birds and their parishioners.
I remember, not so fondly, my brief but noteworthy
experiences with a few of them.
Sister Mary Schwarzenegger comes to mind.
She lost a leg during the war, and if she caught you
misbehaving she’d detach it and beat you with it.

A classic flick of epic proportions.
Made in 1980 I still quote this movie to this day.
This scene scared me the first time I saw it.
I attended parochial school for a little while
and this brought back some memories.
My knuckles still ache from the beatings.
Jake and Elwood Blues meet the Penguin
on her home turf (shudder)…

Mike Birbiglia with an amusing recollection of
Catholic school and the magnificent awards
he received for doing a great job while there.
Kinda.
I did my time, I can relate.
Sunglasses fell apart on the way home from
receiving them most likely.
Big dorky kind with the thick frames I’ll bet…
