When one of the members of the absolute BEST comedy
troupe that ever existed passes away you take notice.
Mr. Jones role in Monty Python was a diverse one.
He was Mr. Milton in Crunchy Frog, Brian’s mother in
Life of Brian, the stodgy Brit who’s wife likes photography,
the waitress who likes to serve spam, and many more
exceptional comedic characters.

I have everything Monty Python has ever produced…video,
audio, promotional, PC based and all of their games.
The top of the comedic heap, nothing better or more
prolific, and Terry was one of them.

As it says in the crib notes on this piece, this slice of
Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life was picked by
the late, great Terry Jones to be one of his Top Ten
favorite Monty Python movie moments.
It is a superb comedy performance, the song
is a top notch Eric Idle composition, the set is
creative and interesting, and the exuberance by
Mr. Jones and Mr. Idle is absolutely killer.
You looked quite comfortable in that dress, Terry.
I hope where you are there’s some nice ones in your size…

So many variations of this skit it’s hard to
choose which one is best.
This is one of their earlier performances, Eric
Idle and the very recently deceased Terry Jones
with a back and forth that will make you smile.
Terry plays a typical stodgy British gentleman so
well I cannot imagine anyone else filling that role.
And Eric is superb as the oversexed and underloved
annoying stranger that everyone (almost) can relate to.
R.I.P. Terry Jones, you will be sorely missed!

certified country music superstar.
Duly noted for performing more than fifty Top 40 songs
over his fifty plus years of performing.
He has done a lot of Shel’s pieces, some of his best
work has come from his novelty material.
I love to play it on the show, very cool stuff…
