Comedy 101 Radio 4.9.20

I wove a thread.
Does that even make sense?
John Prine just passed away and I thought I
would pass on some of the things that I have
learned about the man.
He shares songwriting credits with Fred Koller
on one song that I enjoy playing on the show.
Fred partnered with the Reverend Billy C Wirtz.
Fred Koller was friends with Shel Silverstein.
Shel was friends, and worked, with Bobby Bare.
Bobby Bare was in a group with Jerry Reed.
And on and on…it got interesting.
A couple of twisted blocks thrown in for good measure.
Is The Rocky Horror Picture Show still a thing?
I hope it is, I can remember some stupendous midnight
showings of that flick that was awe inspiring.
Brent Butt ate too many eggs.
She missed a two inch putt! 🙂
Kellen Erskine would impress all to earn twenty
million dollars.
Classic construction material.
Odiferous ending credits.

True Facts: The Oppih

Ze Frank with an in depth look at a truly rare beast.
In its native habitat the Oppih is known as the Snub-
Nosed Anteater, a chubby little thing with a face not
unlike my dearly departed mother-in-law’s.
Lots to learn here, pay attention, take notes, test later…

Flinchy

John Heffron with a bit about the drawbacks
of being born first, last, and in the middle of
the pack of siblings.
As it is everywhere, what you receive depends
on who and where you are in life.
I was the middle child, don’t go there…

Let’s Talk Dirty in Hawaiian

This is sad news.
John Prine just passed away due to complications
of the Corvid-19 virus.
He will be sorely missed.
This song was written by him with help by Fred Koller.
I found a few of these performances by John on the web
but the quality wasn’t quite there or the audio was weak.
This is a great version from his German Afternoons recording.
He was one of the great singer/song writers of our time.
R.I.P. kind sir…

The Rise of the Skeletons

I do so love this scene!
From the classic 1992 horror/comedy flick,
Army of Darkness comes this gem of a
performance by Bruce Campbell.
He screws up the incantation, tries to fake it,
then has to contend with the aftermath.
As one of the comment makers stated “All the
cemeteries in the world and he ends up where
The Three Stooges are buried!”.
Couldn’t have said it better myself, a great scene…
