You Sure Did

This is a cool episode of The Simpsons.
Homer has many clones of himself to
take care of business, and he still fails
miserably.
And in a strange twist of fate, and irony,
it was the donuts that did them in.
Most of them…

Christopher Titus is one heck of a stand-up comedian.
He’s the whole enchilada, no weak links in his chain.
Today’s weather forecast mentions some light idioms
with a chance of stronger metaphors late this evening.
I love to play this one on the show, quite funny,
especially if you know he’s kidding about the seven
dollar babysitter.
I think he’s joking…

From his album The Crux of the Biscuit, Frank Zappa
with a song of snake oil and swamp land.
Frank was an interesting fellow, a talented musician
and disciplined band leader, he left behind a large
body of work, most of it as eclectic as it gets.
But I have the crystal ball!
Why yes, yes you do…

The brilliance, and strangeness, of the late, great
Douglas Adams is on full display here.
This is a scene from The Hitchhiker’s Guide to
the Galaxy CBC Television’s six part series that
aired in 1981.
Time travel is common, the wealthy use it for all
sorts of things, some like to attend either of two
restaurants that are located at the beginning and
the end of time.
You can dine while viewing the creation, or the
demise, of the universe.
Don’t forget to tip your wait staff.
This scene has the main characters dining at the
eatery that exists at the end.
Technology is so advanced that the main courses have
been bred to fully cooperate and actually sell themselves
as the best choice for today’s culinary ingestion.
A very smart piece, it approaches meat eating from a
very different perspective.
I do so love this series…

K Trevor Wilson is a very funny fellow.
He plays Squirrely Dan on the much heralded Canadian
television comedy, Letterkenny.
He’s a pretty good stand-up comedian, his stage presence
and overall demeanor are the foundation of his act.
He can take something mundane and make it hilarious.
This is a great piece, one little expletive towards the middle.
Wrap Granny’s head with cellophane and cover her with the
mattress from the spare bedroom…
