I keep going back to this piece by the late, great
George Carlin for a few different reasons.
First and foremost, to see Mr. Carlin at his very best.
It’s also important to revisit this from time to time
to remember, and to be comforted by, the fact that
I am getting older, and that it’s okay, we all do.
I also do it to see if my perspective on this piece
has changed over the years, and whether or not I need
to modify the following statement.
This is the single best stand-up performance in comedy history.
The timing is excellent, the material even better, but the
attitude and the conscience are what set it apart from all others.
It’s humor, but it’s also humanity up on that stage, Carlin is
unmatched in that respect, when he passed this country lost
a very important voice for those that don’t have one.
It might not be perfect, but damned close.
A few expletives and a rude gesture, nothing you haven’t
heard before but not really safe for work…

A very well done tune about how we got here.
Henry Phillips is a very good singer, he certainly
sounds top notch on this one.
He’s also a bit on the dark side, it enhances his
comedy something fierce.
Well done, Mr. Phillips…

A classic scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Tim the Enchanter (John Cleese) gets the last laugh on
King Arthur (Graham Chapman) and the gang.
The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch plays an important
role here, pull the pin and count to five before you
toss it at the bunny.
Or is that two?
A reference to a certain religious figure, blurted out of fear,
by King Arthur could offend any clergy types you might have
laying around the house, covering them with several hundred
heavy blankets before watching this scene should prevent
that from occurring.
Or you could just say “Tough Cheese you Bastards!” and give
them an Atomic Wedgie for their troubles, your call…

Jeff Caldwell is a very good stand-up comedian.
You can always rely on him for a humorous set.
His timing, material, and stage presence are
steady as a rock, I love playing him on the show.
