Always Look On the Bright Side of Life

An absolute classic by Eric Idle and Monty Python.
Eric wrote the words and music and he sings his
optimistic heart out in this performance.
I believe this to be the very first tune from Monty
Python to ever enter my ears.
Damned right I was hooked!
One bad word towards the end, but it is completely
surrounded by logical assumptions making any effort
to label the aforementioned word as “hurtful” the
object of scorn and ridicule.
Contrary to popular belief Sunday is the official start of
the week and NOT Monday, I wish to have this be the
ear worm that begins our quest.
Do your part, hum this loudly wherever you go…

Moose Turd Pie

I have to play this wonderful piece by the late, great
Utah Phillips at least once a year.
An interesting story, a whimsical tale rolled in a bad pun,
smothered in a thick, flaky crust.
How’s that for a culinary metaphor?
I probably shouldn’t post when I’m hungry.
He says a naughty word, you should be fine but if you
aren’t I will try oh so very hard to keep that injury
from entering my Apathy folder…

Dream Small

This is a superb piece by Daniel Tosh.
It really spotlights his mastery of irreverency as a
comedic tool.
His faux smug persona is a pleasure to experience.
Nobody does it quite like him.
Top Ten All-Time in my humble opinion.
Being very intelligent and well informed are a huge
plus in his arsenal as well.
This was recorded early in his career so there are a
couple of things that are slightly dated but all are
quite enjoyable.
A couple of words that when uttered insure your passage
to Hell or, a few adult words that every living person has
heard at least several times before and shouldn’t be a
problem if you don’t listen to this in a monastery…

Along Came Jones

A classic 1959 novelty tune from The Coasters.
Tells a nice good guy/bad guy story with a
comedic slant.
Reached #9 on the charts when it came out.
There was a time when a good comedy ditty
would hit the top twenty.
I lament that they no longer do that.
Here’s one that did…

Mr. Wizard

Stevens and Grdnic with a great parody of the
old classic television science program that aired
for quite a while.
I don’t how many times I’ve uttered “We will if
we’re not careful, Timmy” over the years.
Some great lines here…
