She Won’t Mind…

This is a refrain that was shouted out at my house
when I was a wee lad.
They say behind every stereotype is a kernel of truth,
and that is certainly the case with dads and their
telltale odors, especially of the bathroom variety.
When my father grabbed a newspaper and a cup
of black coffee (no lie) we would head for the hills.
Technically the house would be safe to inhabit once again
after a day or so, but my mother would open all the
windows and call it “safe” after a couple of hours.
I don’t think my maternal unit had a normal working
olfactory system, maybe at one time, before I was born.
This is for Dads everywhere, especially the ones
reading the sports and saying “fairwell” to yesterday’s
spaghetti and meatballs…

This classic piece of British comedy is from the late,
greats Peter Cook (the tall one) and Dudley Moore
(the short one), both of Beyond the Fringe, a four
man comedy troupe that redefined humor for
generations to come.
Inspirations for Monty Python and many others,
they had their own television series, starred together
in movies, toured like crazy with their two man show
and partake in talk shows like no other.
A little known part of their careers had them hit the
clubs as Derek and Clive a really profane comedy duo
that really served the adult portion of their fan base.
These two guys are forever enshrined in the comedy
hall of fame, their works will live on.
This is a great piece, when it was performed it was
way ahead of its time, still works quite well today…

Juston McKinney with a pretty funny, snark filled set on his dad.
Warts and all.
Some great lines here…

It’s Friday, time for some silliness.
This is a classic song that goes back many years.
It’s credited to Benny Bell but I think the real
singer here is Paul Wynn.
Benny wrote it back in 1946, a double entendre
for the ages.
Shaving cream, be nice and clean…

As only the Simpsons could present it.
There was a time in the scientific community when
women were considered to be subpar, and there is
still a little of that in certain circles.
This slice spotlights a bit of that, and a little “children
should be seen and not heard” thrown in for good measure.
Lisa is not your typical female, child, or Simpson for that matter.
“Pi is exactly three!” had me laughing out loud…
