The Ballad of Skippy and Rover

There are so many great things about this song I
don’t even know where to begin.
Let’s start with the band, Antsy McClain and the
Trailer Park Troubadours are a very tight group
of musicians fronted by Antsy McClain.
Antsy sings with a real sympathy towards the
subject matter, you feel the song as well as hear it.
Even more so on this one, you can just tell he has
owned a few dogs in his life.
The whole performance is superb, as well done a
folk ballad as anything you’ll hear out there.
It damned near brought a tear to my eye.
And yet, it was funny.
There aren’t many artists that can do what he does.
And I am more than happy to play him on the show
and post his material for all to see and hear.
Some great lines here…

The Dog Knight

Robot Chicken with a humorous look at Batman
and Robin’s love/hate relationship.
I’m telling you, it’s the tights, they would make
anyone grumpy.
They ride up and wedge, your day is shot!
This is pretty funny, even Lex Luthor gets the
Kiss treatment.
Batman is NOT amused…

You’re My Dawg, Dog

A great one from Adam Ferrara off of his latest
recording “Unconditional”.
I highly recommend this release, it’s all really good
with new material centered around his family
and home life.
Adam is getting better all the time, he’s one of the
better ones on the circuit for sure.
You can tell he loves his doggos…

Martian Boogie

Brownsville Station was a fun band back in the 1970’s.
They formed in 1969 and hit their stride a few years
later with hits like “Smokin’ in the Boys Room” and
this wonderful tune, Martian Boogie.
Lots of character and zeal, it carried them far.
They broke up after a while and reformed later on.
Cub Coda, the lead singer, passed away in 2000.
I love to play this piece on the show, it rocks and
displays a little love for extra terrestrials as well.
I do so love the vibe here, lots of fun as well…
