Noel Paul Stookey was one of the original members of Peter, Paul and Mary, the top notch folk singing group that charted well in the 60’s and 70’s. His 2004 solo recording Virtual Party is mostly a spoken word piece with some pretty decent humor contained within. I love to play novelty pieces from otherwise serious artists, they tend to be quite interesting. And insightful…
Bert Kreischer with a humorous look at showering while obese. Congress is currently in the process of passing legislation on this very topic, punishable by fines, imprisonment or both. His shower curtain bill is higher than most…
A bit late on posting the playlist for this week’s show. Both my arms fell off due to a rather nasty paper cut. As such, my keyboard activities were curtailed. Unable to type I spent my time driving the elderly to bingo, buying them all ice cream along the way. After a while I discovered that I had some bubble gum and duct tape in the glove box. Put the arms back, and at first I thought “Oh cool, I’m left handed now!”. If this should happen to you check for thumb positioning. If you’re stuck in the “emperor thinks you suck” position chances are you need to switch the arms around. A decent show, I didn’t think it flowed well but I got some compliments on the material. Played a superb piece by the late, stupendous Stan Freberg accompanied by the equally talented also late June Foray. Peter Paul and Mary were known for their great folk songs but there was another side to at least one of the members. Who knew Noel Paul Stookey had a great sense of humor? Happy Birthday to Haydyn! The Arrogant Worms and Weird Al Yankovic heralded same. Cars. A little taste of the Olympics. Meat. Speaking of late, greats…Richard Jeni with one of his best. Obesity. Emo Philips at his best, a very well constructed piece. And a prime example of what makes Daniel Tosh one of the very best ever. Onward and Upwards…

Professor Elemental is very protective about the equine entities under his care. To put it mildly. This is a wacky little video that I find really intriguing, British humor can be quite compelling when mixed with the inane. Almost like oil and water, shake the Hell out of it and it works…at least for a little bit. Zany is as Zany does…
I cannot say enough about the movie, it’s a classic that could never be remade, for many reasons. Mel Brooks is/was a godlike figure in the world of comedy, nobody had an impact like he had. This might be his finest cinematic effort, and boy is that saying a lot! So many great scenes in this flick it’s hard to pick just one. This is a Doozy…great acting, writing, and editing are all a hallmark of a Brook’s film but this one really stands out. Come good lines here…
I have been extolling the virtues of Cy Amundson for some time now, he’s a tremendous stand-up comedian with much talent to spare. He is a story teller type of comic, no one liners for this guy. His stories are hilarious, top notch in every way. This one gets funnier every time I hear it. A couple of expletives which could make the hair fall off the dog, have your mom knit a sweater…
