Won’t Eat Me…Smell Like Poop!

After searching high and higher still I stumbled upon a
classic Not the Nine O’Clock News sketch in great shape.
Monty Python will always take the top spot in a Best Of
British Comedy listing but these folks deserve to be
considered as well.
This skit includes Mel Smith and Griff Rhys Jones as two
company managers with Rowan Atkinson as the union
leader representing an employee that was let go.
The only member missing from this four person comedy
troupe in this was the wonderful Pamela Stephenson.
A well done piece, everything about it is great, I love
playing this on the show, it loses nothing with the lack
of visuals…

This is one of Richard Jeni’s best bits, and it’s a classic.
He’s in top form, snark at its best, impeccable timing
adding much to the performance.
One of the very best stand-up comedians ever, quite
possibly Top Ten.
Some excellent lines here…

The great Tom T Hall just passed away at the age of 85.
Considered by some to be one of the better story telling
artists in country music, he released a lot of hits, 12 of
which went to #1 on the charts and 26 reached the top #10.
Prolific and blessed with a rich soothing voice that made
him a star whose career lasted almost fifty years.
I play this tune on the show, it fits quite nicely.
R.I.P. Mr. Hall, you will be missed…

A certified Chandler Travis classic.
Either that or Chandler Travis is certified.
Sometimes I’m not really sure which it is.
I love playing this on the show, it confuses people.
That alone is a great reason for living…

Red Green (Steve Smith) is a sage of very high repute.
He says things in an unassuming way, no polarity at all,
and the wisdom contained therein appeals to all of us.
That’s my take anyway.
I’m getting older, I can relate to this bit.
When I need to grin, I think of him…
