I Put a Spell on You

A classic by the late, disturbed Screaming Jay Hawkins.
He was actually a pretty decent blues musician before
he decided to take on the theatrical persona that made
him the pop icon he later became.
He joined the army with a forged birth certificate at
the age of 13, becoming a military boxing champion
while stationed in Alaska, later joining the air force
and getting an honorable discharge in 1952.
He made quite a living with his on-stage antics, he
was on all of the important talks shows, made a
movie or three and released many a recording
over his many years performing his standards.
He has a few different versions of this tune, I may
play the really disturbed variation later on in the month.
He sure put his soul into it…

Uncle Buford #1

This is irrefutable proof that first cousins should not marry.
This is the same type of shenanigans that brought down the
British royal family so stop it already!
I mean seriously, when all your kids look like they belong
on a porch with a banjo maybe it’s time to start dating outside
your gene pool, that’s all I’m saying…
