Bitzer Over Easy

A lighthearted piece by our friends at Aardman Animations.
I’ll post a bit deeper on this series later in the week, this
being Sunday I though I’d go with treacle.
Hey, I can’t always be a Type A.
This stuff never fails to bring a smile to my face…

When You Get a Dog

A great set by Tommy Ryman.
After giving up his career as a professional body builder
Tommy decided to try his hand at stand-up comedy.
No longer ingesting ten thousand calories a day he
found it easy to be humorous.
All that chewing must make one stern.
He named his dog “Olive”.
The transformation is complete…

Comedy 101 Radio 11.11.21

Fashionably late, as usual.
Mixed it up quite a bit this week, very diverse.
Covered American, Canadian, British, and Irish
humor with grace and distinction, but little class.
A relationship block, can’t help myself.
Rowan Atkinson with a clever one.
The same could be said about Roy Zimmerman.
Heywood Banks with great word play.
An interesting tie-in with the Air Pirates.
Ian Thomas, aka The Air Pirates, is the younger
brother of comedian and actor Dave Thomas.
Ian is known for his top 100 songs that were
produced during the 1970’s, for himself and others.
A lot of different artists covered his pieces, from
Bette Midler to Santana with decent success.
The late, great Tracy Thielen with a superb ditty.
We used to email back and forth and joke about how
he would send me the notices for his upcoming
performances, he being in California and me living
in the wild and wacky state of New Hampshire.
Bobby Bare covers Shel Silverstein like no one else.
Speaking of which, Shel gets some licks in himself.
My tribute to Veteran’s Day for instance.
Family life is well represented.
Kyle gets the top spot.
Onward and upward…

Since I Left You

I have agonized for months on whether or not to
post this wonderful piece of heart tug.
The Avalanches are an Australian band that REALLY
know how to make a great video.
They make you think, the imagery is superb,
and the subject matter is as good as it gets.
This makes you ponder, it’s a humorous offering but
it is so much more than that.
If it makes you think you are a decent human being.
If it makes you cry you are a great human being…

The Word Retard

This is a classic piece of stand-up from Christopher Titus.
Chris is a great comedian, one of the best ever in my humble O.
I used the word a lot growing up, every day and all day.
You learn as you get older, that’s a constant.
And that’s how life works.
A small amount of profanity, just enough to get the forces of evil
to look in your general direction and smile…
