Frontier Psychiatrist

The Avalanches certainly do tickle me the right way.
They are a very eclectic bunch of talented musicians
that possess a sweet sense of humor.
Even when I don’t particularly care for the tune I
find that I really like the video, and vice-versa.
One of Australia’s best Electronic Music Groups,
they have a way of finding something you’ll like.
This has samples from the John Water’s flick Polyester
as well as some old Wayne and Shuster comedy bits
with a modicum of other voice quotes from various
sources of interest.
Gotta love that video…

Airbags

Tim Young has something to say about those large
puffy things that explode in your face when the
jerk in the car in front of you stops really fast
forcing you to run into him.
The way he states it is much funnier.
I remember growing up when we didn’t have
seat belts in the vehicle, never mind the overly
sophisticated over-the-shoulder-boulder-holder
harness set-ups that most cars have in them now.
I can remember hitting the solid metal dashboard
at speeds well over 70MPH several times when I
was a weeeee lad, and there’s nothing wrong with me.
With me…
With me…
With me…
With me…

The Ballad of Skippy and Rover

This is one damned funny, well performed and superbly written
song by Antsy McClain and The Trailer Park Troubadours!
There’s so many good things about it it’s hard to begin.
Sadness, defiance, brotherhood, and resignation are just a few
of the qualities contained within.
It is indeed a novelty piece but it is so much more.
Well done, Antsy, well done…
