A classic from our friends in Wisconsin.
A well done piece with great production values, a favorite
novelty cut to play around this time.
Where I’m from hunting season starts early, the carnage is
broken down into many types…bow, muzzle loader, high powered
rifle, rubber band and paper clip, and I believe the time period
of October 15th through October 30th is pea shooter season.
I say if you’re going to allow hunting at least make it entertaining
for the rest of us who don’t partake in it.
You want to hunt deer in November using a muzzle loader with
bullets you made yourself, like I used to with my father?
Then you have to wear a bright orange tutu.
Think of the pictures in Field and Stream!
It would be quite fitting, to man up you have to man down first…

Gun Control
A splendid example of what Saturday Night Live could do
back in the old days, back when they were funny.
This was from the first year, 1975, Chevy Chase’s first and only.
Anne really wants the guy, and now that they’re alone…
Hunters
A really funny piece by David Crowe.
He’s a very smart stand-up comedian, he keeps it top shelf
for a reason, he wants the comedy to teach and well as make
you laugh out loud.
He pulls it off quite well.
This has some great lines…
The Unicorn
A Shel Silverstein classic.
Not many people are aware as to what and how many
absolutely great tunes the late, great Shel wrote.
In many cases other folks made them the classics that they are.
Johnny Cash, The Irish Rovers, Bob Gibson, and many others
have performed his pieces to great acclaim.
This is his performance, off of his “Inside Folk Songs”
recording from 1970…
Don’t Dismount From the Front!

The Unicorn (Live Shel)
This is a rare treat, Shel Silverstein performing his
beloved classic live for a group of children.
You heard the studio version, here he is in person.
If you have never seen Shel, this is a rare treat…
Keep Going…You Already Have a Groupie!

Mixed Nuts
Greg Warren should be a lot more well known.
One of the best on the circuit by far, and he’s getting better.
He just the right amounts of snark, self doubt, and annoyance
to really make it work for him.
This is a great set, some nice lines here…
Curses, Fowled Again!

The Shallow End of the Gene Pool
A classic by The Austin Lounge Lizards.
These folks are as tight musically as you can get, very talented indeed.
It is to our benefit that they add a humorous bent to their material.
Great with a lyric for sure..
We all know someone like this…
