I have seen many versions of this classic novelty tune but this
is the most humorous.
Many wonderful things can and should be said about Spike
Jones and His City Slickers, the musicianship was excellent,
their stage presence was top notch, as was the material.
To me the really big thing that I notice is the timing.
So many things could go wrong, but don’t!
They are very much in tune with each other.
Zany bordering on silly but highly entertaining.
This was done in 1945. almost eighty years ago.
Way ahead of it’s time…

This is one of Rhett and Links best sketches.
It starts off as smarmy as your grandmother’s last X-mas card
but it develops into a pretty darn good piece after all is said
and done.

I may have posted this gem once this year already.
Henry Phillips started his career in the same way
that Heywood Banks started his, as a folk singer
that discovered his in between song comedic banter
was a major draw to his live shows.
Henry has a superb singing voice, this song really
shows what he can do with it.
Not to mention it holds your interest on a comedic
level as well…

A classic scene from a danged good flick.
The Princess Bride was released in 1987 and it became a cult
film almost immediately.
Some very quotable moments contained within, lots of great
dialogue and acting from an eclectic group of thespians for sure.
Wallace Shawn plays Vizzini, Cary Elwes is Westley, Robin Wright
is the kidnapped princess, Buttercup.
Westley is going head to head with Vizzini in a battle of wits to
win her back, a lesson in logic follows…
