The Time Warp

This brings back some terrific memories.
Richard O’Brien wrote the script, it starred Tim Curry as
Dr. Frank-N-Furter, and it was a howl to attend a midnight
showing of this absolute classic.
Very off the wall, class participation was not only encouraged
it was necessary.
I had a Hell of a time, my bag of tricks consisted of several
slices of burnt toast, a few rolls of toilet paper, a couple of
squirt guns, several newspapers, and a whole lot of yelling!
Usually shown at midnight at a very cool theater near you.
It is nearly fifty years old now but still a superb time.
This is one of the main songs that you sing along with….

Monolithic Oil

A great parody, maybe even satire, from National Lampoon.
These folks were quite the source of mirth back in the day.
They’re kinda still around, the magazine no longer exists but
you see the odd audio release every now and then.
This is one of the better ones…

Crappy Jobs

I consider this piece by Dana Gould to be a classic
bit of stand-up comedy.
A couple of laugh out loud moments contained therein.
He’s a great comedian, if he ever gets back into it full
time and releases a new recording I’ll be on it…

Fractured Fairy Tales: The Turtle and the Hare

This is from the old Rocky and Bullwinkle Show, a cartoon that
ran in the early 60’s that was way ahead of it’s time.
The voice over artists are the cream of the crop, the best that
the industry had to offer at the time.
The fables are, as the title suggests, all messed up.
In the sense that humor is indeed the message, and not the
moral, ethical, or cerebral one that is implied in the original
fables of yesteryear.
Not laugh out loud humorous but it is definitely entertaining…
