I mentioned, not too long ago, that Hugh Laurie
\nwas a real talent in the world of comedy.
\nHis work in Blackadder and Jeeves and Wooster are
\na real treat to watch, wonderful stuff that.
\nBut most Americans only know him as “House”, a crusty,
\ndrug addled yet skilled doctor of medicine plying his
\ntrade in a fictitious hospital set somewhere in America.
\nA pity.
\nAmerican television has a way of bringing you the lowest
\ncommon denominator and passing it off as entertainment.
\nThat is one of the reasons that I avoid TV like the plague.
\nThere is a common thread to his career, one of the best
\npairings in the history of comedy actually, is his ongoing
\nwork with the incredible Stephen Fry.
\nFry and Laurie, as they are\/were known, have worked together
\nsince the early 1980s, introduced to one another by Emma
\nThompson, while attending the University of Cambridge.
\nTheir work together over the years has produced some of
\nthe funniest moments in comedy history.
