The Reverend Billy C Wirtz with a cool little tune of
romance, chromosomes, and double wide mobile homes.
Sounds like your typical country music tune.
With a twist.
“To us it’s a way of life…”

Chandler Travis with a confession of sorts.
Or a declaration of accomplishment.
Depends on how you look at it.
Pond sausage, the other wet meat…

Shane Mauss is a very talented stand-up comedian.
He has a great combination of intangibles that make
him a real player on the circuit.
He can be self deprecating, insightful, skeptical,
awestruck, snarky, and quite intelligent.
A few utterances of profanity, nothing that will make
your mom foam at the mouth and beat you silly.
That would be rabies, rabies does that.
The Broad Side of a Barn is now a punchline, gotta love it…

I went totally in the opposite direction this week.
Instead of slowing down on the blocks I decided to make a
whole show one ginormous one.
To sum in up in one word…Afflictions!
The show is full of them, every single piece deals with
some kind of personal issue that should be dealt with.
Insanity, health problems, severe appearance deficits,
genetic predispositions, psychiatric abnormalities, I
may have even thrown something in there about
athletes feet.
Neil Innes deserved to open the show.
The Austin Lounge Lizards with a classic.
Faust & Lewis with a really good set of reasons why I
NEVER went on a blind date.
Shane Mauss with a superb bit.
Jon Lajoie goes DARK, great piece though.
Christopher Titus with a cathartic set.
Chandler Travis had a life threatening experience
when he was younger and my best guess is it had
something to do with eating a pork roast while
swimming…or something along those lines.
Alonzo Bodden deserved the top spot.
Onward and straight up…

Tom T-Bone Stankus with a rather twisted gander
at rampant drug abuse by way of a field of poppies.
Some folks like to drink, others like to poppy.
Who am I to judge?
There’s a little overlap at the end with a Monty
Python clip from The Meaning of Life, brings
back memories..

Not the 9 O’Clock News with a superb sketch
containing malaria, smallpox, and ledge plummeting.
And what good is falling to your death without a
bit of humor, I ask you?
Rowan Atkinson at his best…
