I went totally in the opposite direction this week.
Instead of slowing down on the blocks I decided to make a
whole show one ginormous one.
To sum in up in one word…Afflictions!
The show is full of them, every single piece deals with
some kind of personal issue that should be dealt with.
Insanity, health problems, severe appearance deficits,
genetic predispositions, psychiatric abnormalities, I
may have even thrown something in there about
athletes feet.
Neil Innes deserved to open the show.
The Austin Lounge Lizards with a classic.
Faust & Lewis with a really good set of reasons why I
NEVER went on a blind date.
Shane Mauss with a superb bit.
Jon Lajoie goes DARK, great piece though.
Christopher Titus with a cathartic set.
Chandler Travis had a life threatening experience
when he was younger and my best guess is it had
something to do with eating a pork roast while
swimming…or something along those lines.
Alonzo Bodden deserved the top spot.
