What If You Feed that Man to a Shark?

I was really tired, not sure if I was going to make it the whole show.
It felt at times that I would nod off between sets.
A feeling that I absolutely dread, having done just that once before.
That happened a couple of years ago.
The one and only time I fell asleep during a show.
Mine is the last one of the day, usually done by eleven pm.
Woke up at one in the morning…Dead Air…Oh Nooooo!
Opened one eye, noticed the on-air board with no movement on the
levels meter, for a brief moment I thought it was just a quick nod off.
Nope.
Fast forward to the present day.
Played some Summer stuff, have to keep that going a bit longer.
A few blocks of interest…coffee, beer, Pete, and sports.
Bobby Bare is a treasure, a wonderful singing voice in his prime.
He is still with us, the only one left from the Old Dogs, unfortunately.
Red Green is always a treat to play, down to Earth and wise to a fault.
Robbie Benoit lives on, and that is as it should be.
One of my favorite comedians as of late is Greg Warren.
Da Yoopers make a showing with a classic.
I played a Certified Guitar Player on the show!
Dean Obeidallah is a breath of fresh air.
Chandler Travis is a hoot.
Alonzo Bodden is a great stand-up comedian.
Does your coffee have Chick Corea in it?!
Don’t Ask!
I was just thirty five cents short!
Don Novello was/is a very underrated comedian.

Not to be confused with the panda that resides at
the San Diego Zoo.
This is a cover of a Chuck Berry tune as done by
Judge Dread, the late, great British musician.
I like hearing it with that accent, spices it up…

A tasty Summer treat for certain!
Once you get past the trickery of tin cans
and recalcitrant chocolate particles you
just might find you’ll get what you need.
With apologies to Mick Jagger.
I wonder if Mick digs chocolate…

Tommy Ryman is a criminal on the run.
With his horn rimmed glasses, clarinet and
faithful partner in crime (the little woman)
he scorns law enforcement and does what
he wants to whomever he wants.
Sounds nefarious doesn’t it?
Nothing of the sort actually.
He’s a wimp, and he knows it, hence the act.
And a great act it is.
He does more with vanilla than any comic
I have seen, some great lines here…

This masterpiece was penned by Shel Silverstein.
Sung quite admirably by Bobby Bare.
It has such a great tone to it, Bobby sings it with
feeling, like he lived it somehow.
Lots of thinking went into this one.
Bravo, Shel, bravo…
