The Twisted Chipmunk Song

Bob Rivers with a great parody of a classic Ross Bagdasarian song.
Alvin and The Chipmunks with David Seville (Ross himself) were a
huge draw starting in the late 1950’s.
Excellent marketing and interesting characters insured their long
term viability, leading to some chart topping hits along the way.
I loves me some good parody, this hits the spot…

Rango: The Car Crash

An interesting movie, Rango was released in 2011 to decent reviews.
The premise is fresh, although it does use older more established
tropes it does it in a way that seems new.
One thing that puzzles me about casting famous people in animated
films, as they did with Brad Delp here as the voice of Rango…why?!
I’ve never understood why paying someone, known for their acting
skills and good looks, a large sum of money for neither attribute is a
good business model.
Any number of struggling actors could have pulled that off, maybe
even better than what we see here, just my two cents.
A good, entertaining flick, time well spent…

4th Grade Girls Basketball

I find this performance by Cy Amundson to be hilarious.
I have said this before and it is certainly worth repeating,
his style of stand-up comedy is more of a story teller than
that of a one-liner, and boy does he do it justice.
One of the better comedians on the circuit for sure.
He is superb at setting up conflict in a very humorous way.
I played Biddy League basketball when I was much younger
and this bit brings back memories…

We Wish You’d Bury the Missus

I love the lyrics on this one from the Cryptkeeper.
A stupendous 1994 holiday recording from John Kassir
and the gang at The Right Stuff Records.
Highly collectible at this point, if you can find it buy it!
Some seriously twisted tunes on this puppy, all voiced
by Mr. Kassir and backed by some very decent musicians.
Gotta love the level of lunacy here…
