That’s the Spirit!

Great idea!
From the Burt Reynolds flick Smokey and the Bandit 2 comes
this little tongue in cheek gem about keeping it real.
At least he’s honest about his lack of morality.
I do like the sentiment…

There’s lunacy and there is THIS guy.
Napoleon XIV, aka Jerry Samuels, hit the airwaves with an
insanity inspired album back in 1966.
The song They’re Coming to Take Me Away was a huge but
controversial hit.
All of the tunes off the record dealt with madness.
And I’m not talking the irate kind.
It was glorious.
Finally a recording artist that can speak to me!
This one is almost scary dark.
There is definitely something wrong with this boy.
I wouldn’t want to live next door to him, but I would
like to keep him as a friend…

An absolute classic by the late, great George Carlin.
Back when he was playful, and not the Last Angry Man
stand-up that he later became to be known as, he did a
lot of observational comedy .
Some of the material from this era is the best he has
ever done, before or since.
This is one of those pieces, lots of word play and
audience reaction, great insights into the way human
beings do what they do and why.
This plays quite well on the show…

I may have posted this for Valentine’s Day but I get a lot
of requests for this puppy, I felt compelled to play it again.
Some great lines on this one.
He sounds pretty certain, not one to embrace hyperbole…

The infamous scene from Dirty Rotten Scoundrels where Ruprecht,
played by Steve Martin, and Lawrence, played by Michael Caine are
seated at a table eating dinner.
Martin and Caine play con men using a con that fleeces large
amounts of money from unsuspecting rich women.
The movie is decent enough to watch, some scenes better than
others, but all good.
This one is killer, the object of the game is to turn off the woman so much
that she hands over some of her wealth to avoid marrying Lawrence.
I laughed out loud the first time I saw this…
