A killer slice of a very entertaining movie, The Crucifixion Scene
from Monty Python’s 1979’s Life of Brian!
This is a long piece, but please stay with it until at least the 9:12
mark to see the entire cross gathering/checklist scene with
Michael Palin, Eric Idle, and Terry Gilliam.
By all means keep going though, the audio and video are superb
all the way through, a very iconic series of events in this classic
piece of film history.
The best parts are all here, the speech impediment laden prisoner
pardon, the cross assignments, Eric Idle’s gleeful horse’s ass
character, the poor bastard good Samaritan, and the infamous
song on the cross scene!
Stay with it, it’s basically the last nineteen minutes of this masterpiece.
I’m still quoting it more than forty years later…
