This classic piece by everyone’s favorite comedy troupe
was more than a bit controversial when it first aired
on British television back in 1970.
It is widely considered to be the most tasteless of
all their sketches, it was actually erased from the master
tapes by the BBC after it was shown and was only able
to be offered at a later date because one of the Pythons had
taped it from the original broadcast.
It was a part of John Cleese’s eulogy when Graham
Chapman passed away, and it was part a running gag during
the actual episode…the joke was that the Queen was
going to be watching the show that evening and that
the programming should reflect that (now THAT’s funny!).
