Williams and Ree have always fascinated me.
They started as a duo back in the 1960’s when they met
at a college in South Dakota.
Part country, part rock and roll, with on stage banter
that spotlights stereotypes of both the Indian nation
and the clueless white people that don’t quite understand
them…it’s actually quite funny, though not quite what
you would call politically correct.
And I guess that’s what draws me to them, they toss
stereotypes back and forth at each other during the
entire shown really hammering home the sordid past
of the “white man” and the woeful condition of the
Native American nation, but they make it funny and on
many levels it really works.
I’ve interacted with them and they seem really nice and
more than willing to discuss their careers.
A very interesting couple of guys, decent musicians with a
lust for life, the desire to entertain, and a great sense of humor.
Again, not PC, but this is comedy for grown-ups…
