A Shel Silverstein classic as done by the man who made it famous.
I was never a big fan of Johnny Cash growing up, folks pegged him
as being a country music artist but I learned that he was so much
more than that.
I’m not against country music, there are artists that I like that have
made their living in that genre, but it is a bit confining and not
something I’d listen to when needing a good tune.
Mr. Cash was different, one of the first bad-boy artists, he had a
reputation as being a renegade of sorts.
He was also a huge fan of Shel Silverstein.
Proved that the man had class.
This is the live prison version, you can hear the inmates in the
background enjoying the Man in Black and his back up band.
I do like this piece, it’s sung with passion, and humor…
