Comedy 101 Radio 3.10.22

I say this a lot when I post the playlists but this weeks was a
pretty interesting show, for a lot of reasons.
The Man with Massive Toenails is a very welcome throwback
to a time when you could write a comedy song about damned
near anything…massive toenails?!
A classic by Rowan Atkinson, a piece as smart as they come.
Norman and Melissa with a superb parody of the Max Ehrmann masterpiece written in the early 1900’s.
An Outcast block (sorta).
The Undertaker, the infamous Monty Python television show sketch.
They got the whole audience to participate in it with mock outrage,
not informing the audience watching at home was pure genius.
Party block with Brian Regan leading the way.
Cold block, with a REALLY cold non-humorous piece at the end by
Celestial Navigations and the late, great Geoffrey Lewis.
It is most certainly NOT funny, but I play it from time to time with
the philosophy in mind that to truly appreciate beauty one must
know what ugly is…that piece evokes many strong emotions, all of
which are decidedly not positive, with just the smallest glimmer of
hope to propel you forward.
Contrast, my friends, it’s all in the contrast.
I threw a parody in there of a classic song that is not what it seems
to be at all, it seems romantic until you break it all down.
June Carter with a very forced country twang.
Cy Amundson gets the top spot with a superb piece of stand-up.
Onward and that-a-way…
