An Independence Day Show.
You know…The Fourth of July!
The time of year where we shoot Roman Candles at the
cook when he takes too long to pull burgers off the grill.
I managed to get a few blocks in as well as the usual
festivities connected to the holiday.
Stan Freberg is a god, there’s just no other way of
putting it, playing this guy on the air is a must do.
His talents were vast, he started off in the golden age of radio
honing his skills as a voice over artist and producer.
Later in life he created award winning television
commercials with a sense of humor.
He could write and create wonderful music, adding some
much heralded songs to his comedy sketches.
I do so enjoy playing the gods.
I should do a god show…Freberg, Lehrer, Carlin, Newhart
and a bunch of others.
Johnny lost a few digits, and then some.
Tom Wilson still doesn’t care.
Hank Thompson does a Percy French piece written in the
late 1800’s, and he does a great job of it.
Lots of fireworks, scads of them actually.
