A classic scene from a very short lived television show
that starred the late, great Leslie Nielsen.
He was a gifted actor, blessed with leading man good looks
and some decent thespian ability he was doing pretty good
as a serious role player when he relaunched his career with
comedy as a major theme in his movies.
And it took off, big time.
This is from “Police Squad” a 1982 television parody that
lasted for only six episodes but spun off some really funny
movies that did pretty well at the box office.
His character was Frank Drebin, a hard boiled police
detective with serious comprehension issues.
He had a knack for silly puns, misunderstanding simple
dialogue, and going off on a humorous tangent.
And for lamenting old roommates apparently…
