Young Frankenstein

Or is that Frankensteen?
From the classic 1974 Mel Brook’s comedy, the scene
where Dr. Frankenstein meets Igor at the train station
ostensibly to bring him to the castle.
This sets the tone of the flick, superb one liners, and they
just get better as it goes along.
I can quote this movie all day long, and I often do!
Gene Wilder and Marty Feldman at their finest…

That Dresser Could Have Killed Me

Tommy Ryman is in Lament Mode.
Apparently he has furniture that is trying to do him in.
I never had any issues with tables, chairs and the like
but I went through a time when I’d wake up every
morning with a pillow firmly covering my face.
Woke up gagging and gasping for air, it was terrible.
When I asked the wife if she had noticed anything
odd going on when I slept she just shrugged her
shoulders and said “Nothing that can be proven in court!”
She has my back.
Some great lines here…

Talking Bear Mountain Picnic Massacre

A novelty tune from the folk legend who just turned 80!
I’ve always said that I really enjoy it when a serious artist
comes out with a humorous piece, it tends to be a well
written creation with some serious pluses all in all.
Bob Dylan is no exception, the Nobel Prize winning
songwriter wrote and performs this piece on his 1963
album Bob Dylan in Concert: Brandeis University.
It reminds me of Arlo Guthrie, Steve Goodman, Todd
Snyder and a few others…which makes sense when
you think about it, Bob Zimmerman started it all.
Didn’t he?
Some great snark here, seriously…

Who’s on First

A classic baseball novelty piece by two comedy masters.
Bud Abbott and Lou Costello first performed this bit in 1937
where it quickly became their signature piece.
They had done many variations of it over the years, some
short versions and others longer, depending on the time
slot needing to be filled.
Timing is everything in comedy, this is a tight performance…

The Most Money I’ve Ever Had

Kyle Kinane with a splendid set about all sorts of things.
He seems comfortable in this performance, he digs deep
for some great laughs here.
He’s not your typical stand-up comedian, he has a style
all his own and it suits him very well.
Cerebral with a touch of snark, heavy on the self reflection.
Some funny lines here…
