Did you kill last week?

Mel Brooks…Mel Brooks…Mel Brooks.
This guy is one of the kings of modern comedy, and that is
no exaggeration.
He has been part of some of the most influential humor
the world has ever seen…Your Show of Shows, 2000 Year
Old Man, Get Smart, The Producers, Blazing Saddles,
Silent Movie, Young Frankenstein, Space Balls and many,
MANY more!
This piece is from a movie that he produced and acted in…
History of the World, Part 1.

Some familiar faces in that one!

Yeah, you got it Ice!

John Mulaney is a great stand-up comedian.
And not just for the usual reasons…timing, material,
stage presence and the like.
He has a gift for making you laugh by spotlighting what
should be mundane, average run-of-the-mill things that
you and I notice every day and making them humorous.
Not many comics can do that.
I play him on the show and the listeners love him.
Check this one out and you’ll see what I mean…

Good stuff!

Pros and Cons

I will be the first to admit that I’m not a huge fan of rap.
It’s not that I dislike it as an art form, when it’s good
it fits right in with the best of what’s available.
My major complaint is that there is a lot of horrible rap
out there and it is sometimes very hard to wade through it
all to find the good stuff.
I do not want to expend all that energy to find what I like.
MC Mr Napkins is one artist that makes it easy for me.
I am very impressed with his delivery, material and overall
approach to his craft.
Here he is with a very creative piece that must have been
really difficult to pull it all together.

Woof!

I like Mike

One of my favorite comics to play on the show is a
very talented man by the name of Mike Birbiglia.
He is low key, laid back and as funny as they come.
His approach towards stand-up has a lot of overlap
with story telling, usually involving his life and
growing up in general.
This is a unique little video in that he talks about
what motivates him and why…a PBS interview of sorts.

I like that one.

Always Look on the Bright Side

of life…
I feel the need to post this one.
It’s the unexpurgated version.
Eric Idle made most of the songs for the group and I think
some of his material is absolutely classic.
This is one of them.

John Cleese was freezing, and he was wearing heavier clothing.
Michael Palin recently made a pass through the middle east
and he stopped at the location where they filmed the
crucifixion scene. It had not changed.

Life is a job!

Father Guido Sarduci, the alter ego of Don Novello, is
certainly one of a kind.
On a whim he picks up a second hand priests outfit at a
thrift store and the rest, as they say, is history.
I’ve always like him, his humor is original, refreshing
and very funny.
Here he is doing the classic “Life is a job/paying for
your sins” piece…with a little twist at the end!

Nuns used to be Mafiosa in a past life…did you know that?!

True Facts About the CuttleFish

Ze Frank is quickly becoming an internet institution.
Some say he already is.
These people need to be beaten with a manure shovel.
This is my site and I hate to be questioned.
(AHEM) Sorry…harsh Monday.
As I was saying, Mr. Frank, or Ze as his Mom calls him,
is the host of True Facts, a web based site that brings
you things that are true.
Hence the name.
Here he is with…
True Facts About the CuttleFish!

For the love of all that has holes in it, cover your face!

I’m white and I can’t get down

Sammy Allred and Dewayne “Son” Smith AKA The Geezinslaws
are a humorous country music comedy duo based in
Austin Texas.
They’ve been performing for over fifty years and have only
just recently started to slow down.
I’ve played this song on Comedy 101 Radio many times
because it’s funny, clever and has a very catchy melody.
Not a bad video!

I wish there were more like this.
