Crap Monster

I’m going with more Gallagher today.
My fear is that he will be lost in the morass of
mediocre comedians that have plied their trade
over the years, this cannot happen.
I mean it when I say that this guy is near the
top of the heap when it comes to comedic talent.
He ruled the 80’s and 90’s, and rightfully so.
Smart, insighful, great timing and stage presence
make him a formidable comedian indeed.
This slice is from the end of a show called “The Maddest”,
he elevates his game a bit with some well thought out
faux pleas for intellectual respect, he pulls it off nicely…

Camping

John Pinette with a classic piece on the great outdoors!
I love to play this on the show, he’s describing places
that I know and have been to, this being New England I
am privy to all the fun places.
I believe that I was at this taping, the Montreal Comedy
Festival was my place to haunt in the 90’s and beyond, and
up to a few short years ago was THE place for me and the show.
It was either the Bubbling with Laughter series or one
of the Galas, both great places to see comedy but my
preference is Club Soda with the BWL crowd, downtown
Montreal right on St. Catherine Street.
This is a superb bit by the late, great Mr. Pinette…

On This Day in History

Gallagher was born back in 1946!
Leo Anthony Gallagher Jr. is very much an underrated comedian.
I consider him to be one of the funniest of all time.
And I state it that way because he was a stand-up comedian
as well as a demonstrative comic as well.
The first to make prop comedy a famous application, he has
inspired others to add to that style of performance.
Most notably Carrot Top, but a few more come to mind on a
much smaller scale.
Happy Birthday, Leo, may there be many more!
And many thanks for the superb interview and photos, much
appreciated!
Without a doubt one of the most well though out pieces in
comedy history, impressive on many levels…

A Witch in the Pit

I’m a big Bruce Campbell fan!
Perfect for the roles that he’s played, I cannot think
of a better person to play Ash.
This scene just reeks of campiness on an absurd level
but that’s what makes it special.
From Army of Darkness (1992), this slice is cool.
Seems to me there’s more than a witch in the pit…
