Out to Score

The Super Heroes are out on the town looking
to score some friendship, if you know what I mean.
They suffer from the same weaknesses that all men
have, too much of this and not enough of that.
A little rude but has its moments.
And it was only so because Aquaman can’t hold
his licker…

TV

Brian Regan has been one of the best stand-up comedians
on the circuit for quite a while!
It was my opinion that he was the top of the heap for
most of the 90’s and well past that.
His act has evolved over the years and it has changed
the way his stage presence is displayed.
I went through a period not that long ago where I
realized that I didn’t care for his video bits but if I
heard the same piece on an audio only track it was funny.
That got me to thinking, and I had an “Ah-haaa!” moment.
He emotes too much, so much so that I found it off putting.
He does this because he’s used to performing in front of
very large crowds that don’t see him close up at all.
I had to think back at all the galas and large scale events
at the Montreal Comedy Festival that I attended.
Unless you are in the front few rows the performer is but a blur.
He emotes to give the folks who can barely make him out
something to work with.
Having said that this is a very funny bit, really great lines
in this one, really funny.
Still one of the best…

Comedy 101 Radio Playlist 1.24.19

Somebody called me during the show and told me that the “last
piece made milk shoot out of my husband’s nose!”.
That, my friends, tells me that it was a great show!
Made my week, thank you very much.
I played two pieces back to back that had the word Brouhaha
in it, quite by accident I might add.
Chandler Travis is an eccentric, we love that here!
Shane Mauss, Kyle Kinane, and Daniel Tosh show why they
are the cream of the crop.
Mark Silverman with a superb morality ditty.
Rowan Atkinson is the best of us.
The Mrs. Ackroyd Band with one of the funniest yet
saddest songs of all time!

The Devil

Rowan Atkinson with a superb comedy sketch that I
love to play on the show!
Make no mistake about it, Rowan is one of the best
comedians to ever ply his craft, top notch in every way.
He can be a very physical comedian, body language
and facial expressions adding much to the mix.
He is also very good for the radio, he gives you a full
picture in your mind of what is going on, no visuals needed.
This is a classic…
