It’s Frankensteen

One of the best scenes from a truly classic flick.
Mel Brooks made movies like nobody else.
That might be a good thing 🙂
All kidding aside, he is/was exceptional.
Space Balls, Blazing Saddles, Robin Hood Men in Tights,
Silent Movie, and this gem, Young Frankenstein are
the cream of the crop when it comes to parody and
outright satire.
It wasn’t just the scripts either, the actors he used
created a certain chemistry that really bound it all
together, especially this flick…you should see the
outtakes and bloopers, they reveal a lot of what
the cast thought about each other.
Marty Feldman shines in this scene, and the look
Gene Wilder gives him at the end is priceless…

Zipper

I laughed out loud on this one.
Tommy really has his timing down in this performance.
And, just as important, his flow and momentum.
A superb piece, very funny by any standard.
I find his girlfriend…stimulating.

Werecow

Flippy T. Fishead and The Mighty Ground Beeves with
a campy yet fun tune about once bitten, twice shy.
Kinda.
It’s Halloween week, you’re gonna get more of these.
Yes, even if you’ve been good!

Heaven and Hell

A snippet from a Simpson’s classic, the beginning of the
end you might say, at least for Homer.
Iconic for a few reasons, the Donuts in Hell scene is
to die for, as is the Flander’s line about it never being
who you’d expect, but the real kicker is the Smither’s
Prince of Darkness appointment reminder line.
One of the best Simpson’s episode ever…

Poverty and Cargo Pants

This is early Daniel Tosh, 2001 Just for Laughs,
and it’s a hoot.
He’s showing his usual high energy and wit, with
just a touch of the irreverence that sets him apart
from the other stand-up comedians today.
He’s a great comic, one of the very best ever.
Pretty accurate on the poverty topic…
