Little Child

I grew up listening to Spike Jones and His City Slickers.
He broke the world of funny songs and hilarity wide
open with his long running stage show.
There has never been anybody quite like him.
He was all about timing, zany antics, and chemistry.
Really heavy on the timing, you can tell that practice
made perfect with his crew of silly people.
George Rock, Doodles Weaver, and a bevy of other
very talented musicians with a sense of humor made
up the City Slickers, all superb in their own right.
This is a cut off of his 1956 “Dinner Music for People
who aren’t very hungry” recording.
It is different, in a wonderfully weird way, with George
Rock singing a song of innocence and wonderment to a
father (also George) that doesn’t seem to quite understand.
A very interesting piece…

The Hostage

A really good comedy sketch by Kurt Weitzmann.
The visuals are top notch, considering it’s all in
the mind like the old days of radio.
The writing is what sets this apart from a lot of
other contemporary skits, it was made for the
ears, your noggin does most of the work.
How about a small salad?
You have to eat something…

Fun Facts About Skin

Kellen Erskine is an excellent stand-up comedian.
In my humble opinion, one of the very best.
His style is snark and incredulity, with a dash of
some serious intellect.
So impressed am I that I play the hell out of him
on the show, he certainly deserves the exposure.
Some superb lines here…

Nibbles the Hamster

A slice of Simpson lunacy.
Principal Skinner is in a bind.
He’s been captured and confined to
school property (natch) and looks to
Nibbles to free him from his captors.
Oh, who the Hell am I kidding?
One of the best punch lines of all time!
You’ll be quoting it for years.
In your mind at least…
