The Thanksgiving Story

The talents of Stan Freberg are in full bloom here.
And as good as THAT is, the voice work of the late,
great Paul Frees is outstanding throughout this
whole recording.
Speaking of which, the whole thing is a HUGE
piece of history, a classic in every way.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Buford’s House of Liver

Mack and Jamie (okay…just Mack) with a mouth
watering song of culinary delight.
My father loved to eat that stuff.
I firmly believe the poor man had no taste buds.
Or sense of smell.
And really bad eyesight.
Apparently.
Mack is an interesting character, he has a black belt
in karate and sorely needed it when he was doing
business in Morocco way back in the 70’s.
Lots of interesting stories in his book Fluffing the
Concrete, check it out sometime…

Columbus Discovers America

A classic from the late, stupendous Stan Freberg.
Off of the Stan Freberg Presents The United States
of America Volume #1 recording.
I know Columbus Day was a month ago but this is
a great lead-in to the Thanksgiving piece that I
will play tomorrow.
Truly a work of art, between the voice work and the
material you have the absolute best of the best.
We have to keep this man alive, his works are some
of the best parody out there…
