Comedy 101 Radio 3.24.22

I have been asked why I don’t post my playlist before the show
so people would know what would be playing.
I take requests, that kills any chance of giving you an accurate
breakdown of that weeks playlist.
I always post these late because it is REALLY hard to do so
during the week for various reasons, my apologies.
Only one block this show, it can best be described as a
That Which Covers Your Buttocks block.
I don’t writes ’em, I just plays ’em.
The song by Rhett & Link is actually really well done,
the video is even better, the visuals adding quite a bit.
Penn Jillette with a strange offering, a bit out of character for him.
It is dark and twisted, so there’s that.
The Residents are still a thing from what I understand.
I mixed it up quite a bit, deliberately avoiding blocks until I
just couldn’t take it anymore.
Fruit of the Loom ain’t got nuthin’ on me!
Chandler Travis sounds like a guy I would like to meet.
Andy Breckman with a classic piece that he wrote when he
was hungry.
I remember talking with his then record company out of Vermont
about him and they were ecstatic that I played his material on the show.
It does not feel it but that was a long time ago!
Bob Newhart with a brilliant piece.
Bob & Ray with a sketch that makes me smile, wide.
I actually remembered all of the guys in The Old Dogs.
Greg Warren gets the A Shelf this week.
That way and up…

Slow Talker

A classic Bob and Ray comedy sketch!
I have seen many versions of this, some
with enhanced body language to accent
the visual aspects of the sketch when on
television, and other audio only versions
that were quite interesting in their own right.
You can sense the annoyance simmering
just below the surface, great stuff…

Hate Crimes

Ahmed Ahmed is one of the original Axis of Evil
Comedy Tour stand-up comedians that took the
nation by storm (a good one!) back in 2008.
The premise was that the comedians were either
from the middle east or were offspring of folks
that were, telling it like it is and helping both
sides of the equation understand each other better.
It worked quite nicely, through their comedy they
were able to bring clarity to a very confused populace.
Ahmed is one of the better comics, very good timing
and flow, with a great stage presence.
He gets you thinking…
