Halloween

I remember sitting front and center right next to the stage
at the CD Release Party for John Pinette at the Montreal
Comedy Festival back in the late 90’s.
Bubbling with Laughter series at Club Soda, Show Me the
Buffet was his first national release.
We were invited to be there, his publicist wanted to get as
much air play and exposure as he could get.
I was impressed with his ability to make me laugh but was
convinced that he was a one trick pony, relying too much
on eating and being large to truly make it as a top shelf
stand-up comedian.
I was wrong, and I was right.
He most definitely did base his act on being overweight and
eating way too much, but he managed to make a legitimate
career out of being large without it being tedious or repetitive.
And boy, did he ever.
Top ten best ever, in my humble opinion.
This is a great bit, some excellent lines here…

In Our Haunted House

The late, great Andrew Gold was a highly honored and decorated
recording artist that did quite well for himself.
He was talented in many areas, I treasure his imagination the most.
It’s one thing to perform a piece it is quite another to create it.
He made an entire recording devoted to Halloween!
This is a very creative tune, lots to love about it…

Comedy 101 Radio: 10.27.22

I haven’t posted my playlists for a while, so busy it’s
been impossible to keep up.
Have to post this one, it was a decent Halloween offering
with requests, dedications and dead things.
Lots of dead things.
Went with several classics, have to keep those alive.
Some new material, always happy to play a Halloween show
with a decent mix.
This was my 30th Halloween show on the air, I’m no Oscar Brand
but I do what I can.
My days are numbered, I’m afraid there will be no “after me” as
radio is on the decline.
I have one Hell of a comedy collection, tens of thousands of pieces…
eight tracks, cassettes, reel to reel, Mini-Discs, 33 1/3s, 45s, and a few
78 acetates around here somewhere.
I want to keep the artists alive, let’s see how much longer I can do that.
Voltaire with a spirited piece.
Bob & Ray with a classic cliche laden series of sketches that amuse.
The Holiday Hipsters with a superb offering.
Andrew Gold with a real nice classic.
Stephen Fry with a pun filled Halloween entry.
Jason Webley does it proud.
Dan Cummins has it down darkly.
Arch Obler knows how to chill you.
Dan O’Herlihy with a great oration from Halloween III:
Season of the Witch.
Happy Halloween!

Monster

Professor Elemental with a nifty little Chap Hop offering
just right for the occasion.
He has good flow, you have to give him that.
I love the usage of old B-shelf horror movie scenes.
Reminds me of a 50 Horror Movie pack that I purchased many
moons ago, plenty of old terrible flicks in that bundle, must
take the time to watch them this weekend.
Why would you want to keep just a head alive?
No, I don’t wanna know…
