Memorial Day

I started off my posting by not looking back at last year’s uploads
and just picked what would fit the best for this year’s offering.
Put it all together, added the necessary commentary, and posted
same, waiting until it was together before looking back at what I
done last year.
Same damned thing.
Go figure.
It’s good stuff, if you don’t like it I’ll give you double your money back.
Here’s a tribute marking the occasion by Heywood Banks.
Mattress sales abound for some strange reason…

Going Over the Top

A tremendously poignant scene from one of the best British
television shows to ever air.
Blackadder was a superb comedy series, Rowan Atkinson was
the main man and had star billing, with a support cast that
was nothing short of brilliant.
This was the last episode of the series, it makes me weep every
damned time I view it due to its “War is Hell” message and the
way it treated each character with grace and dignity.
A true classic “ending” in every possible way.
Even if haven’t watched the show this scene is powerful…

Words and Euphemisms

A true classic from the master.
George Carlin was as good as it gets, and with material like this
it doesn’t look like anyone will be knocking him off his perch
anytime soon.
Some naughty words contained within, it could make the dog bark…

My Face is Covered with Hummingbirds

This is exactly what happened to me this week.
I whipped up some homemade hummingbird food in the kitchen.
They love fried chicken and scalloped potatoes, with some thick gravy
on the side usually but I was out of everything except for raw organic
sugar and some tap water.
Scraping out the dried potatoes and old drumsticks from the feeder I
filled it with the aforementioned sugary substance and waited for a
plethora of the colorful little birds to appear.
None came, nothing, not a one.
I ran back into the house and drew a bunch of the no-shows onto
some cardboard with a crayon, stapled several onto my face and
stumbled back outside.
It’s a small world…
